Follow these instructions step by step to ensure a correctly setup connection.

Setting Up TCP/IP
1. Go to the Apple menu (top left corner of desktop).
2. Select Control Panels.
3. Select TCP/IP from the Control Panels.
4. Select "Connect via:" PPP.
5. Select "Configure:" Using PPP Server.
6. Enter the two name servers under "Name server addr.":

7. Enter net-port.com under "Search domains:".

The next step will not apply to all operating systems:
8. Click the Options icon, select "Make TCP/IP active", and select "Load only when needed".

Setting Up PPP
1. Go to the Apple menu (top left corner of desktop).
2. Select Control Panels.
3. Select PPP from the Control Panels.
4. Select "Registered User".
    4.a Enter your Net-port username
    4.b Enter your password
5. Enter the phone number you will use next to "Number:" (refer to our list of local numbers below)

6. Select the Options button at the bottom of the window.
7. Select the Protocol tab.
8. Select "Allow error correction and compression in modem".
9. Select "Use TCP header compression".
10. Do not select "Connect to a command-line host".
11. Select the Connection tab.
12. Deselect "Connect automatically when sharing TCP/IP applications".
13. Deselect "Use verbose logging".
14. Select "Flash icon bar while connected" (if desired) under "Reminders:".
15. Deselect "Prompt every 5 minutes to maintain connection".
16. Deselect "Disconnect if idle for...".
17. Select the Redialing tab.
18. Select "Redial:" as "Off".
19. Select OK once all settings have been applied under the options tab in the PPP Control panel. This will take you back to the PPP window.
20. Close the PPP window.
21. Select "Save" if prompted to save the settings and changes you have made.

Connecting to Net-port
1. Go to the Apple menu (top left corner of desktop).
2. Select Control Panels.
3. Select PPP from the Control Panels.
4. Select the Connect button. The modem will dial and negotiate a connection.
5. The Connection window will then appear indicating your connection status. From here open your Internet applications such as email or Web browser.
