Netscape Communicator Email Installation
Welcome to Tutorial for setting up Netscape Communicator
to send/receive email through Net-Port.
Follow these instructions step by step
to ensure a correctly setup connection.
- Open Netscape Navigator.
- From the Edit menu, choose Preferences, and click
the "+" to the right of Mail & Newsgroups.
- Click on Identity from the Mail & Newsgroups menu
tree.
- Fill in the Your Name and E-mail Address fields (you
may also fill in the other fields).
- Click on Mail Server from the Mail & Newsgroups
menu tree.
- Click the Add button in the Incoming Mail Server field.
- Fill in the following fields of the Mail Server Properties dialog
box:
- Server Name: mail.net-port.com
- Server Type: select POP3 Server.
- User Name: enter your username.
- Click on the POP tab.
- DESELECT the Leave messages on server box. This will ensure
that all messages are removed from your Net-Port account, and you
will not inadvertently exceed your disk quota.
- Click OK.
- Enter mail.net-port.com or your ISPs SMTP server name
in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server field:
- Select OK.
- Click the Inbox icon on the bottom right of the browser window and
enter your password. Netscape will check you mail and download messages
for you to read.
Congratulations! You have created your account in
Netscape Communicator. You may start sending
and receiving email as soon as you are connected to the internet.
